Comments
Comments: After failing to summit last Sunday I was obsessing about getting back to the Trypyramids all week (yes I have issues). Pine Bend was well packed down low, our small group bare booted for the first mile or so. Some loose powder on top then prompted the change into snowshoes. The higher the elevation the more powder on top of the hard pack. Once on the ridge the trail was less packed and there was some drifting. Between the two peaks it was completely filled in at times but breaking it back out was not difficult. By the time we were through the trail was in great shape...but then we passed several groups not wearing snowshoes on the way back down and the trail became littered with post holes in their wake. This is why we can't have nice things.
