Hiked up Cannon via Hi Cannon Trail, then back down via Kinsman Ridge/Lonesome Lake/Dodge cutoff. Wore my K10s the entire way, but microspikes probably would have sufficed. It was clear that some people had been butt sledding large portions of the entire loop, was pretty slick in places. Carried my snowshoes but never put them on. Trail was getting soft by the time I was descending (was back at the car by 10AM), but not enough to warrant putting the snowshoes on. Just enough to make footing a little unstable. Hi Cannon trail was really well packed with no postholing (this could have changed if anyone hiked it yesterday afternoon in the warm temps). Kinsman Ridge trail down to Lonesome Lake Trail did have some postholing, but nothing crazy. |
