|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
One main crossing heading to Welch was easy to cross on rocks. Boots were dry. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Great trail leading up to Welch. Could use a few more blazes on the slabs to note direction. Need more blazes and some blowdowns cleaned up on the side leading off of Dickey. It was hard to follow sometimes. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
The slabs and ledges can be tough on dogs. Make sure your dog has experience with these trail features before you take them up on this loop. Also bring water as once you are on the slabs, there is minimal available. |

| Comments: |
An unexpected work out today on this loop. Ledges and slabs leading up to Welch are somewhat clear. With just a little ice and water present. It was a spikes on and off kind of day. More ice and snow leading off of Welch and some depth still in the col between the peaks. Snowshoes are really not needed as it is a very small section. Spikes up to Dickey and back to tree line there were off and on crossing the slabs on the descend. Poor blazing in the woods heading back to the parking lot. All in all a good day out there. Enjoyed this loop and will be back when it's completely bare. |
