Comments
Comments: We wore snowshoes for the entire hike, which are the best option. The herd path from the end of Little River Road to the trailhead is still covered in snow, so snowshoes were fine there. They've added a 'Trail' sign since the last time we did this hike, at the beginning of the herd path right across the bridge. The snow on North Twin Trail to the water crossing was soft and somewhat postholed. Some additional postholing toward the top of North Twin Trail. Luckily the postholers didn't continue on to South Twin. The snow between North Twin and South Twin is soft and a perfect showshoe. Great views from South Twin, one of my favorite winter (early spring) views in the Whites.
