Comments
Comments: Well we set off and baldface circle trail was a highway. We turned onto slippery brook after seeing gem pool which was flowing. It rained for about 30 min. After that we were in short slevees til the peak! Once we got on slippery brook the snow was less packed but still doable with spikes. I forgot to tape my heels and i had been the one to bring snowshoes incase needed. So closer to the ridge i switched over to snowshoes. This saved my heels big time and by this time the sun started to turn the snow into spring snow. I was breaking about 2” before getting to the ridge. I then took the lead as only it looked like 1 skiier had gone to Mt Eastman. Uma started to posthole like the moose tracks we saw and i had with my snowshoes about half of the time. The two with me with spikes did about half of the times i did not sink. Spring is here. They were going up to their hips and i would go about a foot or more in snowshoes. We finally made it to the sunny peak and sat for over an hour. Heading down with the sun on the snow longer made for some more snowshoes postholes as well as the spikes and dog. Once back on slippery brook out prints were melted away and it was softer than before. We made our wat down and out making this 51/52 for my 52wav
