| Comments: |
The lower section of the Davis Path (following the brook) is showing lots of ice. Good traction is essential. Near the ridge crest and above to Mt Crawford there is deep snow alternating with bare ledges. A cold & windy day for my hike. The bare shoulder overlooking Crawford Notch before the junct to Mt Crawford was very gusty. At the summit of Mt Crawford the small spruces provided good cover on the east side against the wind. Even standing against the wind, good footing is provided by snowpack or bare ledges. No ice. The day after the rain, the sky was a deep blue and clear. |
