| Comments: |
Thursday snowfall about 4" at parking lot, increasing with elevation to 6" to 8" at higher elevations. New snow was powder and some in shade still remains as powder. The new snow is over a very solid hard frozen base. Considerable sun today as day progressed created wet sticky snow and mashed potatoes in some places. People were walking accross the top of Lonesome Lake in the new snow. Apparently no one fell through !
Trail between North Kinsmsn and Sough Kinsman was not broken out until this afternoon.
Wore spikes on the firm track to Lonesome Lake Hut, then switched to snowshoes until back to parking.
Thank you to the bare boot / spike, butt slide squads were out today tearing up the snowshoe track. Recommend snowshoes for most of it.
