| Comments: |
Down low, the ground conditions consisted of a mix of wet ground, wet rock, standing water, mud, and patchy frozen granular snow/ice. The upper sections of trail had consistent spring snow coverage for the most part, save for a few bare patches on the Old Path heading up North Doublehead. At least 2+ feet of snow in places. Light traction did the trick, especially heading up New Path- the upper half of that trail was seriously steep...
Excellent weather, clear skies, and great views from both summits, particularly South Doublehead. North Doublehead marks #33 on the 52 with a View for me. |
