Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: A few parked on 302 due to conditions of the lot. The lot wasn't plowed after the last snow which made for interesting conditions if you didn't have 4WD/ AWD. Much of it melted throughout the day so should be better. There is a significant "speed bump" where the road meets 302, which leaves those with low clearance to park on the road.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I left a red microspike on the summit of Pierce. I was halfway to Ike when I realized it. I ran into a group of guys who said someone picked it up - they thought he might put it on a branch. I hit Pierce on the way back and it wasn't there, so I had some fun with one slippery boot and one spiked boot all 3.1 miles down the slushy trail to the parking lot. Unfortunately, it was not hanging on a twig or branch there either :(

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day, lots of sun. Still winter up there. I wore micro's to Pierce and then switched to snowshoes. Someone made a herd path shortly before the jct to webster cliff trail that shoots off to the right, making it a shortcut to the summit. It is so well packed down that if you aren't familiar with the trail, you would think it's the main trail. Lots of drifting above treeline. Snow shoes made traction a cinch and saved me lots of time in between Pierce and Ike, everyone who brought them was using them above treeline.
