Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A small stream running across the trail within the first few minutes of the hike. Not sure whether it is a vernal stream or permanent stream, but it had nice stepping stones and was not deep.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A bit confusing at first. After you pass the big lot for Shannon Brook Trail (on the right as you head south), there are two places where cars are parked. We noticed this when we were there a couple weeks ago and wanted to return to check out Bald Knob. There are no signs there indicating "Hiker Parking (no name of trail, either)," but it looked like a path went in, so we went in. We chose the area at the "Welcome to Moultonborough" sign. There is enough room for at least four or five vehicles and probably more along the shoulder of the road, As soon as we went in, we started noticing blue blazing. Some of the blazes are faded, but if you pay attention the trail is not hard to follow. There is a little logging activity near the beginning. Several blow downs, no big issues with them. In fact, one fell parallel the trail, so it is more like a railing!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw many; all well-behaved, having a good time.
Bugs
Bugs: One small black/orange butterfly. One lady bug on the bench up top. An ant, a spider

Comments
Comments: This really packs a punch! For two reasons; 1, it looks like a simple little hike, but the steepness is big time for those not in shape. 2, the views were amazing! There was a small stream paralleling most of the path and it had some pretty cascades. Again, it could be run-off that won't be there in another month, I don't know, but for now it is pretty. Many burls on trees for those who enjoy nature's oddities. A few small blue flowers starting to bloom. Nice bench on top. Thank you volunteers and maintainers.
