Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The trail head from the road was very wet and muddy. Better off taking the road access thru the gat in the parking lot. They meet up at the same place. Brook crossings were very easy, be cautious of the snow bridges over the small brroks as the week goes on, won't get very wet but could twist an ankle or knee.

Comments
Comments: Left parking lot 9:30 AM Trail starts off with little to no snow cover but that changes quickly, Snow pack was still frozen and walking was easy on the crust. Started off with Micro spikes but after about a 1/2 mile needed the full crampons. Trail was well packed and easy to follow to the Carriage Rd Junction. The recent over night snow falls had a soft layer of snow that sis have some give on the steeper sections of the trail but nothing difficult. Estimate a base about 4 to 5 feet,as one point stepped aside to let a group pass I was up to my hip and hadn't hit bottom. Took us 2 hr from trail head to Carriage Rd Junction. Winds at this point were still not too bad. The .8 to the summit was nice easy trek only took about 20 minutes but the winds on Summit were 40-50 mph with 65-70 gusts, temps was about 25F. But was a beautiful crystal clear sky and 20 miles of visibility in every direction. Wish it hadn't been so windy, would have to been able to eat lunch.
Went back and eat lunch out of the wind at the trail junction.
Hike down was about 90 minute and snow was getting very sticky quickly. Kept collecting in the crampons and was easy to loss footing expectantly. needed to keep kicking trees to keep them clear.

Great day, first time here and will be back in the warmer weather
