Comments
Comments: The trail starts out dry (mostly) and about 1.5 miles in we started seeing patches of ice so we put on spikes. The ice was soft due to warm weather but some felt Hillsounds would have worked better. Around 4,000 feet we started with the snow/monorail. If you stayed on top you were fine but step off and you could posthole up to your knees or even deeper. At the junction of the carriage road some of us decided to put on snowshoes to make the walking easier. About .25 from the summit all snow and ice are gone. We put the shoes in the bushes and walked the rest of the way to the summit. Very wet trail today.
