Bugs: Black flies are out, but weren't biting. We both found ticks on our clothes when we did a check with lint rollers at the end of the hike. (Time to retreat our clothes with Permethrin!).

Comments
Comments: We both were feeling like we couldn't spend another beautiful day slogging through mushy snow in snow shoes, so we decided to stay south.

We had a great time redlining all of the trails on Rattlesnake Mountain. The trails are in great shape. The Col Trail had some mud, but it was mostly avoidable (and shallow if you misjudged your step). The Ramsey Trail still has a lot of leaf cover, which made descending that steep trail a bit difficult. Not a bad place to stay in shape for the bigger mountains!

Side note: We each had a dog tick on us when we did a lint roller check at the end of our hike. Stay weary!
