Holt to Holt/Clrk Cutoff to Clack to Moglis, to Manning, back to Holt
Going up the Clark trail there was only one spot that was very avoidable. Near the summit cone there was a large snowfield off to the left, but not on a trail. Going down from Firescrew there were more pockets of ice we had to negotiate, but we're able to without spikes. There was one spot that was pretty sketchy though, so we bushwhacked down a steep treed section about 20 feet to a safer spot to cross it. Even if we put spikes on, there was concern of either going through it and going who knows how deep, or it breaking away. I will reiterate, going down the Manning trail was a lot of fairly steep descent. I would imaging what ice is left will be gone soon, but like I said only one spot was concerning going down the Manning trail. VERY MINIMAL ICE...... |
