Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Every water crossing without a bridge was easily crossed via rock hopping.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There was a number of blowdowns right near the beginning of Ammonoosuc near the parking lot. There were a quite a few blowdowns on Jewell as well. All could be avoided, but a couple were a bit difficult to work around. A few signs had been knocked over. Most weren't very significant, but one on Jefferson marked a trail crossing and it was a bit hard to read lying on the ground.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw one dog on Jefferson, and he seemed to be doing fine.
Bugs
Bugs: No issues yet.

Comments
Comments: Do yourself a favor and leave the snowshoes at home. There was no need for them. However, some form of traction was a must for going up Ammonoosuc. I ran into one couple who had to turn around because they didn't have traction to go up Ammonoosuc. After I got up to Lake of the Clouds Hut, I put the Hillsounds away and they never came out again. There was a fair bit of snow towards the middle of Jewell, but it had a fairly stable monorail and I didn't have any problems bare-booting it.
