Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First Crossing on Castle was somewhat able to be crossed by rock hopping with shoe being submerged over toe box (which one person did), Two of us decided to remove shoes and cross with 3mm neoprene socks to avoid possibility of wet feet before a long hike. All other crossings were passable with rock-hopping.

Comments
Comments: Castle Trail had minimal blowdowns, didn't see ice until over 4000 ft or someplace around that and it only stuck around until alpine zone. Snow between Jefferson and Adams-postholed up to waist in a few spots, other sections there was a secure enough monorail to cross on top. Few sections of ice on Watson right after entering tree line that I felt more comfortable wearing spikes for, but it was definitely spikes on/off kind of situation. Brookside also had some sections with ice/snow but we didn't even bother with traction there were enough rocks to avoid it.

My first time on the Castle Trail and I loved it. It was a beautiful day above tree-line and didn't see anyone till Adams summit and Madison.
