| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
No issues. Brackett Brook is easily crossed on stepping stones. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
This trail could use some love up high. Above the brook there is lots of erosion which is compromising many of the rock steps in this section. There is evidence of recent blowdown clearing, but a few remain. The stretch approaching the ridge needs to be brushed out. Several areas were flagged for work. No issues on the NPST. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Sure, but didn't see any. |
| Bugs: |
Black flies were swarming, but were not biting too much yet. |
| Lost and Found: |
Nothing. |

Meetup group of 11, out and back on the MCT. Both trails are mainly dry. MCT has many areas of minor mud, none of them nasty. No snow or ice anywhere. Some wet and slick ledge in shaded areas to watch out for, but all open ledges were dry. We encountered a few other day hikers and one thru-hiker who was slack packing. Hazy views from both summits, but always a great day on this great peak. |
