Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail in desperate need of maintenance. Its condition has steadily deteriorated over the years and would need a major effort to repair, something most unlikely given its evident low priority. It provides ample evidence of the impact of uncontrolled erosion. Oh, there are rock steps in places, we all rock work, but erosion control, the PRIMARY task of trail maintainers, is mostly ineffectual. Failed drainages, none in other places where needed, no check dams to hold back the soil. This is especially evident from the TH to the glades but there is ample need farther up. And that is just for starters. How sad.

Comments
Comments: Had a late start, quick up and back, to tag the peak for spring. The light traction stayed on the pack. Any snow and ice was easily avoided. The blow downs repeatedly reported remain. Large mud pits in the flat section after the spur to the ledges.
