| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail is in excellent shape with the following exceptions: One very large blowdown 10 minutes from the trailhead requires a wide detour. The downslopeing ledges on the switchbacks are very wet and slippery. The ledges on the Piper Trail, after the junction require more yellow blazes. Most of the existing blazes are very faded. In good weather, you can pretty much figure things out w/o them, but I would not like to have to rely on them in poor visibility or when quickly fleeing the summit in a thunderstorm. |

Saw a few, seemed to be doing OK |

Some black flies and skeeters, but it was windy enough to keep them at bay. |
