Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Sawyer River Rd is closed, adding an extra 2 miles each way, so the hike takes about 1.5 hours longer than usual. Park at the lot on 302 next to Sawyer River Rd.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The one stream crossing was a bit difficult but was manageable with waterproof boots.  
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One or two blow downs, easy to get over.  
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: People were camping by the stream crossing and letting their dogs run wild with no supervision. On the trail, one hiker had an off leash dog. One had a leashed dog that was quite spirited, but she kept him on a short leash so we could pass. No incidents occurred.  
Bugs
Bugs: We had no problem with bugs all day.

Comments
Comments: There is no longer any snow or ice on or near the trail. The wet areas are a bit hairy but there aren't many of them. The trail was mostly dry. . It had rained lightly the day before, but no rain on the day of the hike.
