Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing exciting
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Great Gully is in good shape! Just below treeline on Airline, however, is a blowdown nightmare. About 200 yards of weaving over, under, and around. Doable, but take care and give yourself some extra time.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any
Bugs
Bugs: Out in force. Caterpillar infestation at the lower elevation. It sounded like rain as they feel from the trees. So gross.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Quite a few things left at the Appalachia trailhead as we came out.

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day for an exciting and difficult trail. Couple small patches of snow at the beginning of the Great Gully tr, but easily navigable and nothing higher up. Shortline is really lovely! Never done it before. Ran into no one once we left the Airline until we hit the cone of Adams. Airline added quite a bit of time to our hike thanks to the blowdowns, but we managed to get through or around them all. Long, but fulfilling day. Second time up Great Gully was much less scary!
