Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Just a few blowdowns but everyone I saw said Airline was a nightmare so glad I didn't do that route.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My dog had a VERY hard time today. Was suffering badly from heat exhaustion and bleeding paws. But we took lots of breaks and ended up hitting both summits. We went up Shortline which was rugged and a struggle for the pup. Would not recommend for a dog and mine is a strong hiker. I would go up and down Valley Way if I did this again.
Bugs
Bugs: Lots... black flies and flying ants
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Water bottle left near ice caves and pair of reading glasses (yellow)

Comments
Comments: Up Shortline to Star Lake Trail over Madison and down Watson Path/Walley Way
This one kicked my butt and glad it is over. Hardly saw anyone today. Thank goodness for the free water at the hut
