Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Airline had a ton of blowdowns about a half mile before breaking treeline, or in my case after getting below treeline. Me and Leoni managed fine but was a pain with tired knees and feet. I would suggest a different route for now, but again totally manageble if your a 5'3 girl and medium but capable dog.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Leoni had no problem all day. She took one rest today which is rare on the way up to Madison, I say it was due to the heat and sun with no wind. Her paws were fine because she's a very seasoned hiker and hops along the rocks with ease. Not a hike for new dogs due to rugged rocks.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies and caterpillars were everywhere.

Comments
Comments: We went up Valley way, straight to Madison then to the hut to make the loop a true loop. Easier ascent may be to hit the hut first and drop your gear there. Then up to Adams and down Airline. It was tough but an amazong day
