| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking was fine. We spotted car at Rocky Branch trailhead and easily hitched a ride to Glen Ellis Falls trailhead. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Several very easy crossings on the way up Glen Boulder Trail and 5-6 more difficult ones on the way down Rocky Branch. Portions of Rocky Branch Trail along creek had significant washouts, crossings were moderately difficult, finding our way at times was a little challenging. Poles were extremely helpful with rock hopping/balancing over fast running water. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
We met trail maintainer going up Glen Boulder; Davis Path was in good shape thanks to trail crews. Having said that, once in Wilderness Area surrounding Isolation, Davis Path became more challenging with blow downs to either pass over/under. Blazes in Wilderness Area are non-existent but there were some nice new signs at intersections. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
|
|
| Bugs: |
Black flies were out -- some times they were bothersome, other times non-existent. We were aided by having head nets and dabbing peppermint oil around face, hair and neck, plus insect shield clothing on helped. |

| Comments: |
This is a very challenging trip. Weather was perfect, no precipitation, sunny, coolish. Approx. 13 miles of hiking with short rest breaks took us 10-3/4 hours. Poles were critically important. We did partake of spring on Glen Boulder Trail -- excellent water source. We did not treat this water. |
