Beautiful day to be out. Pine Bend is quite the boring trail. Not a lot to report. Some blowdowns but all can be gotten around without much effort. Is an easy way up North Tripyramid though. Saw only 2 other guys the whole way. Trail on top between the peaks was fine with a blowdown here and there. Plenty of people and a few dogs. Not much view off either summit. Sabbaday was challenging. Blowdowns and very loose rock on the steep sections had me gripping the trees and on my butt a number of times to get down. Lower half was fun at least - a ton of brook crossings and trail finding (trail notes above). Out through the construction. Didn’t see a single other person the whole way. Overall, I can’t say I think much of this route or these peaks. But, the bottom half of Sabbaday was noteworthy and it was an amazing amazing day. |
