Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The Little River ain't so little. Crossings are very doable, but will require a bit of scouting to find the most advantageous spot.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A very large blow-down (around a half-dozen trees in a cluster) completely blocks the trail at about the second mile from the trailhead. (A goat path goes around, but you'll have to look carefully to spot it.) Prior to that, there are a lot of blow-downs that have been briefly dealt with, but still get in the way.

Comments
Comments: It was a cold and wet day out. I was in a soggy cloud for much of the outing, and it didn't really dry out until about an hour from my car. Though that did lift my mood a little, the coffee I had a bit later on the drive home did much more. But thinking about that, as convenient as it would be for waking up in the morning, I'm not sure I want hot coffee falling from the sky at the next rainstorm.

Trails beyond North Twin are in good shape. The blow-downs from last season's storm aren't much of a problem to hikers. There's a lot of carnage, but a huge amount of work was done by the maintenance crews, and passage is pretty straight forward. And if you look, there's a lot of plant life in the understory that is getting much more light now, and starting to take off like a bottle rocket as a result.

Photos and more commentary are on my blog.
