Comments
Comments: VERY hot and humid day on the Moat ridge. Early morning t-storms made the ledges and rocks quite slick. Most streams are very dry, although some low points on Red Ridge had some stretches of mud. Be aware that there are several mountain bike trails along FR397 which are not shown on the AMC maps and could get confusing. Also, the Moat Mineral Trail is signed as the "Mineral Site Trail" out there. Created some anxious and confusing moments on the way back to the start. No real conditions or happenings of note; just that the weather was not conducive to such a long (15M) day on the trails.
