| Water Crossing Notes: |
FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right at the beginning of the trail. This is a great little hike for a hot day. We wore Tevas the whole way and that crossing was refreshing, as was the easier one that followed a few minutes later. High water could be challenging, however. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blowdowns, non problematic. Some areas need a brushing. Bog bridges in the marshy area are in excellent condition. Thanks. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a little one. Should be good for dogs. |
|
| Bugs: |
Do not even think of coming here without bug spray. Mosquito central. Spray did the trick and made things tolerable, for me... |

This was the former Church Pond Loop; it is now Church Pond Trail, due to the decommissioning of a very marshy part of the loop. The trail ends at a pretty knoll overlooking the pond. First part of the trail is woodsy, some damage (blowdowns mostly) from the storm is there. It was cool in the woods. Coming into the more open areas the temperature seemed to shoot up. There were actually a few ripe blueberries on the knoll. This was a good hike for a hot day; the water crossings were refreshing and lack of elevation and a nice footbed made things easier. Just make sure you have insect repellent and water shoes or sandals. |
