Peaks Pine Mountain, NH
Trails
Trails: Mary Jane Morse Greenwood Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Friday, July 6, 2018
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Very limited roadside parking near the gate (SPNHF sign) on Alton Mountain Road in Alton.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This trail, an old road, is overgrown with tall grass. It could use a brush hog. It is not blazed unlike the other trails on the mountain, but doesn't need to be either.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure, but be mindful of the high tick potential on this grassy trail.
Bugs
Bugs: Amazingly, I didn't pick up any ticks. I would recommend long pants if hiking this in summer. Otherwise, no bugs at all due to the chilly temps.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: A quick hike up for sunset, which was just OK. Regardless, some nice golden light at the end of the day. Nice to finally have a hike without sweltering heat. It was actually chilly with the stiff wind. A refreshing change!
