| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We spotted a car in the Ammo trailhead parking lot and then drove down Jefferson Notch Road to begin our ascent via the Caps Ridge Trail. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
The only memorable crossings are on the Jewell Trail and they are bridged. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Signage at the intersection of the Clay Loop Trail and Jewell Trail would be helpful. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
We saw some dogs on the summits of Jefferson and Clay. We did not see any on the Caps Ridge Trail. |

| Bugs: |
Mosquitos and black flies were biting in the late afternoon on the way down. Bug nets were not needed but bug repellant is useful. |

It was a gorgeous day to be exposed on the ridge of the Northern Presidentials. On a gorgeous sunny day with a nice breeze like the one we had, the Caps Ridge Trail is one of the most beautiful ascents in the Whites. |
