Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing worth mentioning.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Some of the rock blazes are pretty well worn away and the blazes on birch trees are peeling away with the bark on Zeacliff. Its quite easy to stay with the trail, but I can see it being tough with snow cover.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few enjoying the ponds/mud. Plenty of water out there, expect on the Zeacliff Trail ascent.
Bugs
Bugs: The biters weren't bothersome if you were moving. Seemed to walk into a lot more spider webs than usual sor some reason.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Picked up a fair amount of trash on the Twinway unfortunately. Wrappers, a ziplock bag that once held a PB&J, some band aids, a water bottle(empty).

Comments
Comments: Zeacliff trail was as rough as advertised. Would have been quite difficult in wet conditions; thankfully I went up on Saturday in good weather. Trails in great shape all around. Overnighted at an extremely full Guyot site; 82 people! Caretaker said it was the largest crowd of the summer so far. Made for some good group hangout time at dinner, but the caretaker had to turn away some late arrivals as even the overflow was overflowing. Stopped by at Zealand Falls hut hoping to grab some breakfast leftovers, but it looked like the group of 24 French Canadians that stayed Saturday night ate everything in site. Rain Sunday morning made the trek out a bit slower and more interesting. Good luck to AT Section Hiker "Ranger" on completing his last section, NH and ME.
