Comments
Comments: Up Loon mountain ski trails (Brookway/ Walking Boss) to North Peak summit to Black Mountain herd path to Scar Ridge bush wack.

Tough wack once you leave Black mountain herd path. Very minimal herd paths to follow and very little flagging. You are pretty much navigating on your own the whole way to the summit. I used a topo map and compass and would not suggest hiking this trail without those OR a GPS.
Followed maybe a 1/4 of mile below the ridge line in a SE Direction to summit. Lots of blow downs up near the top and at the top in the flat area where the summit is. Was concerned about finding the true summit BUT there are a few faint and short herd paths that go through and around all the blow downs until you see the Orange canister and Scar sign.
Did in shorts and a tee shirt the whole way but did suffer a few nice scrapes on the legs but minimal blood loss.
Total hike times were 3 hours up and 2:45 back.....it was a solo hike.
For me it was # 83 of the NEHH
