Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Slide Brook is bridged. No issues even after overnight rain.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: These trails are in good shape. There are a few easy stepover blowdowns on the spur to South Percy. The signage is new and the blazing is consistent.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of water on both approaches until you get above around 2500 feet. No dogs today. Not sure I'd take my dog up Percy Peaks trail as the ledges could be dangerous, especially the "water slide" on the left of the trail ascending Percy Peaks trail.
Bugs
Bugs: Not bothered at all by any bugs. I put some Deet around my ankles as a matter of course.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing. We found the "canister" on S Percy. Its a baggie.

Comments
Comments: This is an absolutely beautiful trail and forest. Maybe because of the rain, the woods were an emerald wonderland of various green hues. A profusion of ferns and moss covered rocks. Unfortunately there were no views to be had from either peak as the clouds hung on top all day. Descending on Percy Loop Trial is a nice easy decompression on a dirt treadway the last mile to mile and a half. A one mile road walk connects the 2 trailheads. The slabs on North Percy, though a little damp, were still very grippy as advertised, and we ascended cautiously but gained confidence when neither one of us slipped once. Might have to come back and do this again on a clear day. If you're a peak bagger and you haven't done the Percys, you don't know what you've missed.
