Nice hike to Grandview Mountain, a New Hampshire 500 Highest Peak and Grandview Mountain - East Peak, a New Hampshire Fire Tower Peak.
Mary and I started off heading north following a grassy snowmobile corridor #11 and Mt Cilley Trail up easy grade and spotted an owl. Things soon leveling off and just over a mile we turned west gaining elevation for a short distance, turned north again and started losing elevation for a quarter mile or so. We then turned east continuing with some ups and downs until we hit the height of land just south of Grandview Mountain.
At this point we were about a ¼ mile from the summit of Grandview as started bushwhacking northeast in nice woods and soon enough we hit the recognized high point and register. After signing in we continued northeast dropping in elevation towards the East Peak and former fire tower. Once at the col we came up on lots of ledge pushing us north to scramble up and around it and soon we hit the remains of the old fire tower on the East Peak.
We basically retraced our steps back to the car clocking in just under 7 miles and 1250 ft of elevation gain.
