Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Tiny parking area off Old Stoddard Road in Nelson. Watch for small dip while entering and exiting. There is no sign here, but look for mailboxes just inside the start of the trail.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The beaver dam which the trail passes behind after crossing Bailey Brook, and it's associated pond, are becoming problematic. The beavers are really taking over here and the pond is growing. It will soon compromise the trail. Bog bridges in this area need to be extended on both ends. Near the main ledges, the former route from the south, now closed but still blazed and clear, should probably be brushed in. Two people I met said they kept following it for a while.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No issues, trail is in excellent condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: A second visit to this new-ish trail, which replaces a former route that came up from the south. Mainly dry trail with a few areas of mud, and some standing water near the growing beaver pond. Good views from the various viewpoints.
