Parked at lower lot to make for a longer hike. This added .9 mile each way and a lot more gain. Road is dirt and has several very steep sections. Trail starts at second lot. It's a gated old forest road slightly uphill past a clearing. It turns to a trail after .1 mile as it reenters woods and climbs via switchbacks until reaching the summit ledges which rose moderately to the summit. Amazing 360 degree views from a wide open summit! Nice clear sunny day so we could see for miles! Spent awhile taking it all in then descended to our car. With the road walk, a pretty good workout with a great reward. |
