Comments
Comments: Excellent hike up Israel. The Wentworth Trail is very enjoyable, in good shape, and maintains an almost consistent easy to moderate grade. Only one or two short stretches that are a little steeper, and only one short section that is very rocky. Great outlook a few hundred feet below the summit with views south towards lakes Squam and Winnipesauke. Upon reaching the ridge you come to a western knob with partial views NW. Continue along the ridge with minimal loss/gain and soon enough you come to the summit cairn with amazing views SW, W, NW, N, NE, partial E. Pretty windy as the cold front was bringing in the autumn air and summit temp of 53F. Perfect hiking weather. This is an awesome 52WAV hike, I highly recommend it. I visited Beede Falls afterward which is close by. You can access it 0.6 miles from the same parking lot, but I drove "around the corner", up Sandwich Notch Rd, and parking in that parking lot, 0.2 miles to the waterfalls. I would also recommend adding this to your outing. I checked out the main falls and lower falls.
