Comments
Comments: A late start - didn't hit the trail until almost 1 PM so missed the early blue sky views, watched the storm roll in from the summit - hiked the last few miles down in the snow storm and found about 2 inches of fresh snow on my car at the trailhead when finished. 4 people on the trail today - 2 barebooting, one in light traction, one on skis. Did the trail car to car in snow shoes which worked out perfectly and would recommend. Below first set of ledges trail was well packed. Up the ledges there was the occasional patch of crusty snow interspaced with the occasional drifts 1-2 feet deep with the inevitable deep boot holes (now smoothed and a clear track) - after ledges trail became a lot more loose powder - those in boots left the trail pock marked and were sinking deep on occasion - but my up in back in snowshoes established a fairly smooth and packed trail. At the summit some drifting snow where even in snowshoes I sank a good foot or so in a few spots. Nice new paint job on the tower - looks great!
