Comments
Comments: Valley Way is Broken and packed out, snowshoes or microspikes are fine. Osgood Trail is a mix of rocks and styrofoam snow, micorspikes best but crampons are fine. From hut to Adams summit down to Thunderstorm Junction crampons are the way to go. Snowshoes can be used between Thunderstorm Junction right before dropping down to Edmands Col, but crampons were good enough with minor postholing. Bypassed Gulfside Trail on steep eastern snowfield below Jefferson Loop although there was a solo hiker who went up it! Bypass and Jefferson Loop crampons were fine. Tried heading down Randolph Path but lost trail just after Grey Knob trail Junction, we went to high and headed back to Gulfside. Awesome weather day, winds weren't to bad, views wicked awesome, great hiking with Alton!
