Very nice warm early morning with temperature inversion, 20's at base but 49 degrees at summit at 8:45 am. Perfect hard pack until above the big rock about 1.3 miles in, there was some significant drifting that I had regreting stashing my snowshoes in the woods prior. Ledge area is plenty wide and flat, not icy, so don't worry about slipping off. Beyond view ledge is a great look to Flume, Liberty and Franconia Ridge. I had always overlooked this little peak, but went in the interest of redlining today and have to say its a great spot! |
