Comments
Comments: Took a quick trip up the Wilmot Trail and down the Barlow Trail. The Wilmot Trail has about six inches of fresh power over an established base. It was easy going. The Barlow Trail was another story. The trail was hard to follow through the scrub. Someone had flagged the route. If the flagging was not there, the route would have been very difficult to follow as the blazes and several of the cairns are buried in the snow. Just when I thought I had lost the trail, I would spot another piece of flagging or a blaze. The trail hadn't been broken out for some time and was knee deep, fresh powder. I couldn't see the prior snowshoe trough. In some areas, the snow was waist deep. I didn't expect to be breaking trail through that much snow. Thankfully, it was all down hill. In any case, the trail is now broken from parking lot to summit.
