Comments
Comments: Hiked Pack Monadnock (2,290ft) via the Marion Davis Trail from Miller State Park. The hike commenced around 10:30 with cloudy skies, wind, and about 42 degrees without wind chill. We hiked the 1.4 mile trail in about 45 minutes to an hour. The summit had a constant blowing wind and the temperature with wind chill could have easily been around or below freezing. It felt like winter again being at the top. Although it was cloudy in all directions, the clouds were high enough to get good views. For example we could still see the ski trails on Stratton Mountain in Vermont. There were hikers, runners and even two bicylists climbing the mountain. We didn't stay at the summit very long because it was cold and windy even for having plenty of warm clothing. As we were descending we passed some people that were not prepared enough for the cold summit that lay ahead. Overall, it was another great hike in the Wapack Range.
