Comments
Comments: Started with microspikes, switched to crampons in Alpine Zone. Kept on rest of day but had to take off and put on many times from snowfields to bare rock. Saw helicopter flying in supplies for new Madison Hut. Snowshoes on lower Ammo trail. Spring corn snow made for great hiking. Side slopes up Jefferson and down Washington were fine with crampons. Ammo Ravine: had to pay attention to follow trail. Waterfalls starting to open up. Only saw 2 skiers in Ammo Ravine. Great day to be out.
