Bugs
Bugs: Black flies were plentiful at the lowest elevations but were absent higher up. Even at the lower slopes the black flies were not a problem if you kept moving.

Comments
Comments: The trails were mostly dry. The only short wet stretch was near the Mt Langdon shelter on the Mt Stanton Trail. Even in this wet section it was easy to keep the boots dry by using stepping stones. There was no snow on these trails. The leaves were somewhat slippery in places although they were not wet. The Mt Parker Trail had a few minor downed trees which presented no real difficulties.
There are many outlook ledges. Today I could only see the adjacent mountains due to the low clouds.
The out and babk hike on the lower Montalban range has a lot of elevation gain for such low peaks.
