Comments
Comments: Walked the Pemi Trail from Lafayette Place to the Old Man Parking area. I was pleasantly surprised to find bridges at the outlet area of Profile Lake. Im past years this area was swamped. The Pemi Trail had great views of Cannon Cliffs and the walk along Profile Lake was nice.

At the Kinsman Ridge trailhead there were lots of construction vehicles and trailers for the paving project. Lots of hikers on the Kinsman Ridge trail to Cannon Mtn. Be sure to take the side path to the East Cliff viewpoint. Good views from observation tower on Cannon Mtn.
The Kinsman Ridge trail over the Cannon Balls had many wet areas and some small patches of snow off the footway. The quality of the bog bridges ranged from brand new to rotted. I saw no other hikers in this stretch of trail.
I saw many hikers on the Kinsman Ridge trail around the Kinsman peaks. At North Kinsman there is a great down look to Kinsman Pond at the edge of the second set of ledges off the Kinsman Ridge trail. Ridge trail to North and South Kinsman fine with some wet ledge areas.
Fishin Jimmy trail in good shape with the wood steps on some steep ledge areas. A couple small hard packed snow on trail which caused no problems.

The Kinsman Pond Shelter is a fine structure as comped with the Mt Langdon shelter I saw two weeks ago. New bridge over oulet of Lonesome Lake.

Overall the hike of the west side of Franconia Notch was rewarding with many peaks ascended and three ponds visited.
