I like doing this route to Israel in the early fall, the maples in the swamp around the Beebe River were all fiery red as expected. Other oranges, and golds down near the water. Little to no foliage once away from the wetlands.
Great views from the Israel summit of the Sandwich Range, Moosilauke, Cardigan, etc. Popped down to the "secret" ledge for better views of the valley below, Chocorua, Ossipee Range, Pleasant Mtn. (Maine,) Lake Winnipesaukee, Belknap Range, Red Hill, and a small part of Squam (Sandwich Bay I think.) Spent 1hr45min at my own private view point while at least 2 groups came and went from the true summit, took a nice little nap! :) |
