Comments
Comments: We started our bushwhack from the east side of Nancy pond, heading southish - then, we hit some LARGE areas of thick spindly crap... then, we hit the "duck pond trail" and it was missing some blazes and didn't run EXACTLY where we wanted to go, but, we explored it:). Finally, we broke off and took a new western bearing to the actual summit - a little hard to find. ODDLY, there seemed to be a "note" to me from an earlier bushwhacker named Greg on 8/6/11 about "Becca M" - VERY CREEPY!!!! After that, we followed the "Duck Pond" trail and eventually lost it in a HUGE blowdown area surrounded by thick crap. FINALLY we found our way to the far side of Nancy Pond and worked our way back around it to the trail, headed to Norcross Pond at the dam area and turned around to get out by dark since yours truly forgot her headlamp in another pack - DOH!!! Another great hike with the Gnome of the Forest!!! Nice coating of snow on rocks above 3000' :)
