Comments
Comments: NOTE: AMC WMG Online reports north section is closed but this is not the case.

Slush and wet/sticky snow the entire way today. Trail is packed down - snowshoes would be a real challenge given snow conditions! Slush down low turning into very wet and sticky snow higher up - several people up the trail prior to me today in boots and in stretches light traction.

North section - down low a couple of inches of snow - trail was wet slush interspaced with very wet and sticky snow - up higher maybe 6-8 inches off trail after the melting - transitioned just to wet/sticky snow - boots fine - traction would just ball up with snow; ledges just below imp face had slush so were a bit slick -

heading down from imp face on south section - wet/sticky snow up high - after north carter junction there were patches of running water and a few deep puddles/mud that prior hikers had found. Down low back to slush and mud - some fairly deep over top of boots mud/puddles. All the way not enough snow to really cover rocks/roots so keep an eye on your steps especially stretch heading down after north carter trail - footing is very rough/uneven and slush made some rocks slick. Saw one set of bare boot tracks heading up north carter trail from junction with imp, camp dodge cutoff was unbroken.
