Comments
Comments: Enough snow that there's a base for microspikes. We put them on at Avalon summit and they stayed on all day. Trail is nicely tracked out from several parties out today. One or two barebooted, but light traction is preferable. Met 2 hikers on Willey who came up the direct route, with crampons, they thought it was tough and weren't looking forward to the descent. Nice views if not real long range. Temps in the low teens, wind not bad. Great day to be on the Willey Range.
