Comments
Comments: We were the only ones on the trail this morning when we started out. 2-1 inches of snow on the Nancy Pond Trail, 3-10 inches of snow on the FW tr depending on the elevation. We were postholing above 3,000 feet. After the first open viewpoint it gets very thick for awhile but Fran managed to keep on the trail. There are some beautiful views from the low scrubby area before the final climb to the summit. Fun hike. On the walk out when we joined the Nancy Pond trail we saw many footprints of the folks who walked that way. 4 more cars at the parking lot when we returned. This was a beautiful spring hike on Jan 1St! Blue skies and sunshine. The local high summits were shining!
